FEES & FAQS

Questions before getting started

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions. Here are the basics about fees, insurance, sessions, scheduling, and what to expect.

SESSION FEE

$120 per 50-minute session

I am a private-pay, out-of-network provider. Superbills are available upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly. I am an out-of-network provider, which means payment is due at the time of service. I can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information insurance companies often request when considering out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

What should I ask my insurance company about out-of-network coverage?

If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, it can be helpful to contact your insurance company and ask:

• Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
• What is my deductible, and has it been met?
• What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed after my deductible is met?
• Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered per year?
• Do I need preauthorization for outpatient mental health services?
• How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?
• How long does reimbursement typically take?

Having this information ahead of time can help you better understand your potential out-of-pocket costs.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes.

How frequent are sessions?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions so we can build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may adjust frequency based on your needs, goals, and progress.

Do you work with children and families?

Yes. I offer expressive art and play-based therapy for children, support for teens and young adults, and parent involvement when appropriate. The level of caregiver involvement depends on age, needs, goals, and safety considerations.

What ages do you work with?

I primarily work with teens, young adults, adults, caregivers, and helping professionals. I also offer limited child sessions using expressive art and play-based approaches when appropriate.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to the full session fee.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

In-person sessions are available in the Bayou Region. Telehealth is available for adult clients located in Louisiana. Some services, especially expressive art and play-based therapy with children, are best provided in person.

Do you have evening availability?

I offer limited evening availability on select days. Current openings may vary, so the best next step is to schedule a consultation or reach out to discuss availability.

What happens during the first session?

The first session gives us time to talk through what is bringing you to therapy, review your goals, and begin identifying what support may be most helpful. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting.

How do I schedule?

You can schedule a consultation through the link below. This gives us a chance to briefly connect and determine whether therapy together may be a good fit.

Still have questions?

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to connect with you.
